Terms and Conditions

Welcome to The Silicon Project ("We", "Us", "Our"). These Terms and Conditions govern your participation in our laptop distribution program. By participating, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please refrain from participating in our program.

1. Eligibility

To qualify for a laptop, you must be a currently enrolled student at a recognized educational institution in New York City. Verification of student status is required.
a. Only one laptop per student is permitted. Multiple orders from the same individual will not be honored.

2. Use of Laptops

The laptops provided are intended solely for personal academic use.
a. Resale or redistribution of these laptops is strictly prohibited.
b. The laptops cannot be transferred to another individual.

3. Conditions of Use

a. Recipients are responsible for the proper care and maintenance of the laptop. Any damages or issues should be reported to We Care Act NYC immediately.

4. Restrictions

a. Reselling the laptop is prohibited and may result in legal action. Any attempt to resell the laptop will be considered a breach of these terms and conditions.
b. Recipients must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including New York State laws regarding nonprofit distributions.

5. Monitoring and Enforcement

a. The Silicon Project reserves the right to conduct random checks to ensure compliance with these terms and conditions.
b. Any violation of these terms may result in the requirement to return the laptop, disqualification from future programs, and potential legal action.

6. Privacy and Data Protection

a. Personal information collected during the application process will be used solely for the purposes of verifying eligibility and administering the laptop distribution program.
b. The Silicon Project is committed to protecting your personal information and will not share it with third parties without your consent, except as required by law.
c. We collect IP addresses and technical information for security purposes and to prevent fraudulent activities.

7. Acceptable Use and Service Protection

a. Users must access our services in good faith and for legitimate purposes only. Automated access, excessive requests, or any form of abuse or misuse of our services is strictly prohibited.
b. We implement automated security measures including rate limiting and IP-based access controls to protect our services from spam, bots, and malicious activity.
c. Users who violate these terms or trigger our security measures may have their access temporarily or permanently restricted. Repeated violations may result in permanent bans.
d. If you believe your access has been incorrectly restricted, you may contact us to appeal the restriction.

8. Changes to Terms and Conditions

a. The Silicon Project reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Notice of any changes will be provided through our website or direct communication.
